Self-confessed hopeless romantics, we adore a good love story. Fortunately, at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort we are frequently privy to some of the most gorgeous weddings and happily-ever-afters on the Gold Coast. We recently hosted the wedding of beautiful bride and groom Louise and Matt, who wed in ultimate style in the Resort’s stunning glass chapel, followed by a reception in the Grange room. Here, we outline all the swoon-worthy details and showcase picture-perfect imagery by Tennille Fink Photography from this glamorous big day. Thank you Louise and Matt for sharing your love story!
After meeting in a Brisbane club more than 10 years ago and dating for a short stint, certain commitments pulled Matt and Louise apart, going their separate ways but staying in touch. A couple of years down the track they rekindled, spending more time together and the rest is history.
After an incredibly adorable engagement in November 2017 involving the couple’s two small dogs, they were on their way to tying the knot. Envisioning an elegant, romantic theme with a moody winter colour palette, the couple opted for a formal occasion in July 2018.
The scene was set with a black tie dress code and the vision was brought to life with incredible floral displays, with big lush bunches dotted throughout the chapel and reception spaces. The remainder of the styling was classic and understated – hurricane vases with candles and fairy lights to create a soft romantic ambience, timber tables and chairs and linen napkins to create warmth.
Wearing a custom Princess-style gown by Wendy Makin Bridal, the bride walked the aisle of the glass chapel with the breathtaking backdrop of water and the afternoon sun streaming through the glass onto the family and friends that gathered for the special day.
Post-ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy the expansive grounds, immersing in the relaxed feel of the resort before wandering over to the Grange room where the reception was held. “The Grange room where we held our reception was the perfect space for us. It is spacious but also atmospheric and romantic, a balance that is hard to find in wedding venues,” says Louise.
