The Eventful Life

A Christening is a special moment in your child’s life to celebrate with friends and family. Christening parties range from large-scale to intimate occasions, with each celebration as unique as the newest member of your family.

InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort knows how to make your day extra special, so we’re sharing our top four styling ideas for your Christening party.

COLOUR THEMES

While traditionally we frost our Christenings with blue or pink gender motifs, it’s always nice to break away and try something a little different. You could incorporate Pantone’s colour of the year, Ultra-Violet into your event for flair and style in winter months, or broaden your styling options to incorporate a palette of pastels including mint green, duck yellow and lavender lilac.

FRESH FLORALS

Fresh florals remind us of spring, new life and blossoming beginnings so lavish your Christening party with plenty of flowers. Perhaps a flower arch for guests to pose under or seasonal baby’s-breath whimsically placed in the centre of tables.

DESSERT DISPLAY

This is a chance to create a ‘wow’ event centrepiece that will definitely feature on your guest’s social posts from the day. Use cake stands in varying heights to add depth, stick to one central colour palette, and add helium balloons to impress.  Work with your event planners to figure out catering that works for you, we’d suggest mini donuts, colourful macaroons and little pots of nostalgic childhood sweets and lollies spread throughout.

PERSONALISE YOUR PLACE SETTINGS

How about playing up the child-like theme with your place settings, incorporating Wooden Alphabet initials into your guest tables, having train sets as your centrepieces or having colouring book-esque placemats under chic cutlery.
