InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort recorded a spike in accommodation bookings from ‘mum and daughters’ when they found out One Direction was staying in-house.
When InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort hosted Saudi Arabia during the G20 summit in 2014, the Resort became a restricted area surrounded by metal fencing.
The Pines Golf Course is the only Arnold Palmer designed golf course in Australia. For non-members, being a guest of InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort is the only way to gain access to play on the course.
Currently, there are over 300 kangaroos that live within Sanctuary Cove, several of which reside within the actual Resort grounds including our very unique twin joeys and their gorgeous mum.
Our Resort recently opened the poll to guests and visitors to name the newest joeys. The winning joeys were named Wala (Solar Goddess) and Mimi (Fairy-like beings) where both names are born from Aboriginal mythology.
For the past 28 years, Sanctuary Cove hosts the annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May which attracts over 40,000 visitors each year.
Simon Baker (lead actor of TV show The Mentalist) worked as a pool attendant at Sanctuary Cove in his days as an acting student. You could say we started his career.
Our beach lagoon pool is one of the largest man-made beach pools in the southern hemisphere with a volume of 4,600 Kl of water!
Our iconic beach lagoon pool is perhaps the Resort’s most well-known feature and one of its most protected. In an effort to bolster green initiatives for sustainability, the lagoon was converted from freshwater to saltwater which enables the Resort to top-up from filtered sea water from the marina.
Our Resort is home to the “Wedding Buggy,” designed to mirror the front of a Royals Royce and carries the bride to the Chapel in the true resort glamour.
