Where’s the best place to get a good coffee on the Gold Coast?

At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, we believe the best – read: only – way to start your day right is with a good cup of coffee. Global travellers as we are, we’ve often landed in a new city and been lost as to where to find a decent brew. We never want you to feel that way when visiting Queensland, so join us as we procaffeinate (what we do pre-coffee) on the Gold Coast’s best coffee spots with our Chief Concierge, Christian Espino.

1.      Daark Espresso in Musgrave Avenue in Chirn Park

Daark Espresso serves speciality coffee (single origin from Congo is a personal favourite) and fabulous delectable food for breakfast and lunch. A must try is the chorizo potato and herb croquettes with poached eggs. Yummo!

2.      Paradox Coffee Roasters in Surfers Paradise

This is a true coffee lover’s haven, it’s housed in 4217, the old bus terminal in Surfers Paradise. The menu is all made in house and sourced locally – I’d definitely recommend the signature Paradox Eggs Benny to kickstart your morning in Sanctuary Cove. For our little InterContinental travellers, this is the place to be, all babycinos at Paradox Coffee Roasters are free of charge.

3.       Dust Temple in Currumbin Waters

This distinctively unique coffee and espresso bar (Hinge Art Gallery) is certainly a sight to experience! It houses awesome thought-provoking art pieces partnered with great coffee which makes it a memorable experience. Coffee in ecofriendly take away cups from Fonzie Abbott roasters and cakes of the day are also available – I love it.

4.      Blackboard Coffee in Varsity Lakes

As their opening philosophy states, ‘Blackboard exists from a simple wish to start the day with a good coffee’. A statement InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort also lives and breathes by. The café is all about sustainability and local produce, sourcing their own coffee beans and roasts them at their warehouse in Burleigh Heads. They even sell their coffee so you can take it home as the perfect Gold Coast souvenir.

5.      The Fireplace in Sanctuary Cove

Of course, there’s our very own The Fireplace inside InterContinental which has launched the incredible High Coffee. It’s a first for the region and the espresso martinis are worth the stop! We’ve just launched an all new menu, laced with Vittoria Single Origin blends and coffee-infused chocolate eclairs, yuzu cheesecake and more. An indulgent twist on the traditional ceremony of High Tea.
